Covid-19 Safety Plans

LUXE Covid-19 Safety Plans

We understand that the Covid-19 Pandemic has created a lot of uncertainty in society. The changes that everyone has had to go through, as a result of the pandemic and the government mandated restrictions that followed, have created a lot of stress, anxiety, and financial hardship for everyone. We understand the fear related to the reopening of businesses that were previously ordered closed. We also understand that some businesses may not reopen or may have to close because they are no longer viable under the new health requirements.

At LUXE we have taken the pandemic, and everyone’s concerns, very seriously and have tried to re-open in the safest possible fashion. We have taken our time to follow the direction of the Public Health Officer’s office, Work safe Ontario, and the Ministry of Health. We have followed the requirements & recommendations, put forth to us, and have implemented them in our safety policies. If anyone feels that we have missed the mark please reach out to us so that we can review any concerns and adapt if needed. We are in unprecedented times and there is no manual for what everyone is going through. We expect that the Covid-19 situation will continue to change and evolve well into 2021 and beyond. We are going to do our best to change and evolve with it.

We believe that we have the greatest guests in the Ontario Hair & Salon Industry and want to thank everyone for their continued patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through the Covid-19 Pandemic. We believe that if we stand together, support each other, and remain positive that we will get through this and become much stronger for it.

We have posted our Team Member/Salon Safety Policy & Guest Safety Policy below. We encourage everyone to read them before they visit us at the salon. We can’t wait to see our guests again; help us do it in the safest possible manner!

LUXE Covid-19 Mitigation Plan

Stylists & Aestheticians

  1. Team Member Sickness Policy

    1. Stylists/Aestheticians will be expected to stay home if they have a fever, sore throat, persistent cough or sneezing, trouble breathing, etc.

    2. A checklist of symptoms will be assessed, at the time of call-in, and may require the affected person to seek guidance from 311 &/or the Covid-19 Hotline

    3. If 311 &/or the Covid-19 Hotline are required to be called, the impacted person must contact LUXE with the guidance given to them by the respective medical professional(s)

    4. If a stylist arrives at work for their scheduled shift, it is due to them understanding the standard COVID Screening questions and Protocols and deems them to be responding to those questions in a Healthy and Safe manner.

  1. Occupancy Limit

    1. The occupancy limit of the salon has been set at a maximum of 12 guests and team members in the salon at any given time

      • Should the occupancy of the salon reach 12 people, the door must be locked until someone leaves and then only 1 person can enter per person leaving until the number of people in the salon is low enough that the door can remain unlocked

      • Everyone needs to pay attention to the number of people in the salon so that the occupancy level can be reacted to in a timely fashion

  1. Safe Distancing

    1. It is important to try and keep a minimum distance of 6 feet from guests & each other

      • There may be times where people temporarily pass within close proximity of each other (ie coming around a corner, or bathroom door opens unexpectedly) however safe distancing will need to resume as soon as this is realized

      • Exception to this will be when a stylist/Aesthetician is performing a service on their own guest and Safe Working Protocols are being followed.

    1. Plexiglass (and other barriers) have been installed where safe distancing cannot be feasibly achieved through, regular safe working protocols such as: at the Front Counter where people need to pay for product & services, and at the Nail Desk to help reduce contact with guests

    2. Waiting area chairs have been removed as safe distancing cannot be guaranteed with guests sitting in the chairs

    3. Only 1 hair wash station may be used at a time to help foster safe distancing between guests

      • The 2nd hair wash station has been deemed not to be used so that we can help ensure that social distancing, between guests, is maintained.

      • If it becomes apparent that there is too much of a negative impact, as a result of only using 1 hair wash station at a time, the use of a barrier between the sinks may be implemented, if it is deemed safe to do so.

    1. Only 1 hair dryer chair (heat Lamp) may be used at a time to adhere to safe distancing

      • The 2nd hair dryer chair has been taken out of service by posting a sign (on the chair) indicating that is not to be used so that we can help ensure that social distancing, between guests, is maintained.

      • If it becomes apparent that there is too much of a negative impact, as a result of only using 1 hair dryer chair at a time, the use of a barrier between the dryers may be implemented if it is deemed safe to do so.

    1. The ottoman has been temporarily moved from front window area to create more distancing as people travel past the makeup station & first hair station

      • The ottoman has been moved to the area previously occupied by chairs to continue to be able to provide additional product storage

      • The ottoman has been taken out of service by posting a sign (on the ottoman) indicating that is not to be sat on so that we can help ensure that social distancing, between guests, is maintained.
